Odd question but my mouth is watering all the time
You know how you feel right before you are going to vomit? That tingly jaw lots of saliva feeling? Wlel that has been happening to me almost constantly since Saturday morning. I have not eaten anything new or I don't feel sick just kinda quesy and this odd salive thing. Has this happened to any one else?? Wendy RNY 10/29/2002 — Wendy H. (posted on November 24, 2003)

Here is something I pulled off a support group site that I belong to, maybe
it's what you're experiencing: "It most commonly happens the first
few days after surgery. Your mouth will get that hot water, swallowing fast
sensation and the saliva thickens a bit like you need to spit up (and
usually you will). You can try to avoid it by having some hot liquid in the
mornings like broth, s/f hot chocolate, etc. Or even warm lemon water.
Sometimes dry foods will bring it on and so just be careful to avoid dry
things. Most people stop having foamies when they are a few weeks post-op
and not everyone has them. (it is not a
scientific term but rather a WLS invention to describe an unpleasant side
effect of our surgery)." Hope this helps...

Wendy, I know exactly what you are talking about!! It's the weirdest thing
but if I get very nauseaus (mostly if I'm dumping) then my mouth will start
to water profusely. It salivates right underneath my tongue...very
specifically. Now, that said....I don't have an answer for you...lol.
Sorry, just wanted you to know that you're not alone. Denise 280/152/150

Hi! I have the same saliva thing mine is thick, but unlike you, I throw up.
I am having tons of tests to see what is up with it. It is horrible. I
understand. Emma

The only time that seems to happen to me is when I'm going to throw up.
Either I've eatten something that does not agree w/ me or too much. Once
I've thrown up, it goes away.

I had that. Produced lots and lots of saliva. I wondered what the heck was
wrong. It went away after a couple of weeks. Glad to know others had it
too.

Wendy, do you think if you made yourself vomit that it would go away? I
get like that when I've done something wrong or the pouch just decides it
doesn't like something I've been eating all along. It is very weird and
makes it difficult to be around anyone while it's happening. I'm wondering
if there's anyway that something tiny might be staying in your pouch and
aggravating it.
I'd be interest to know what you find out.
Best wishes!

When I first had my surgery, I asked the nurse about the different
sensations in my mouth. She said that when you have that frothy foam in
your mouth, it means that something is blocking your pouch. If it is thin
and watery, then you ate something that isn't agreeing with you.
You need to try to move it, by either throwing up or going back to your
doctor to see if he can do anything. Good Luck!
