Question:
Hi all, I'm 9 days post -op open RNY feeling great but coughing alot.

This is gross, but I am coughing up paste like stuff. Could this be from the protein drinks? The coughing is getting a little annoying. Thanks for your help!    — Joan R. (posted on August 7, 2003)

The coughing is probably from the tube they put down your throat while you were out to help you breathe. The phelgm is probably drainage.

Are you drinking alot of tea or Crystal Lite? Ether "can" do it.
