Question:
Has anyone sufered from severe chapped lips?

I am almost 6 mo post op and my lips are slowly peeling off! Nothing I have tried has eased the dryness or healed the cracks. I have very sensitive skin and have several allergies to makeup ingredients. Is this part of our malabsorption? I do drink enough or more then enough fluids daily. ANy advice would be wonderful. This is just a shot in the dark, but ave you had your thyroid levels checked lately? For me personally, I had a major problem with dry/chapped lips and very dry skin around my mouth and eyes and found out I was hypothyroid. The synthroid that I take now all but eliminates the dry skin problem.

Are you taking vit E in a dry form? If you're only doing 400IU, you might need to take 800IU. E is one of the things we malabsorb, and is never tested. The other thing is, which lip gloss do you use? I found I had peely lips, but when I swtiched to a differnt brand, without petroleum in it, I didn't have the problem. So, I swtiched back, and sure enough. I have not tested Petrolatum to see if it has the same result.

How is your water intake. I have been troubled by chapped lips too, but I increased my water intake and my chapped lips healed immediately.

Hi. My lips get chapped if I don't drink enough water. Also, have you tried Burts Bees lip balm? It's great! Beeswax instead of petroleum. Try www.burtsbees.com. Take care.
