My doctor says that I need to be at the same weight for three weeks before
I am on a plateau. Just keep doing what your doctor says and drink, drink,
drink!!

My first plateau was from weeks 5-7. Hang in there, your body, recovering
from the shock of surgery, will be on its way again soon enough. Are you
taking measurements? If not, it really helps to see how many inches you've
lost - even when you weren't losing pounds. :o)

Aloha!! It is definitely possible hon! I hit my first plateau at 2.5 weeks!
I was DEVASTATED!!! But it ended after a few weeks and I started losing
again. Hang in there. Know that it is your body's way of protecting itself.
You aren't doing anything wrong. Find other ways to measure your progress
when the slow or stall happens. I have found that when the pounds are not
coming off, the inches usually are. So when I notice the scale has come to
a grinding halt, I reach for the tape measure! OR take a look at the things
you were not able to do before you had surgery and how you are feeling
overall. It can be tough because we still, even though we SWEAR this
surgery is for health reasons, measure success by the number of pounds
lost. But there are truly other ways we can measure our success without
feeling like we are failures during a plateau. Hang in
there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hugs, Kathie (in Hawaii).... Open RNY / 08-07-02
