Question:
Kashi protein drink
I have 4 weeks to go until my WLS and am getting together my shopping list. I'll be on liquids for 2 weeks and have read much about protein drinks and suppliments. I love Kashi cereal and know their protein drinks are quite yummy. Is that an okay one to buy? I'm lost in trying to figure out which ones are good or bad for my new to be tummy! — Colleen S. I haven't heard of this one. My general rule is to look at the label and
check for grams of sugar. I try to stay under 12-15g of sugar with most
everything I eat. Hope this helps.

Colleen, I just got back from the healthfood store, wish i would have read
your question first, and done the research.
I did pick up a Kashi protien drink, (pre mixed) but put it back down. I
cant recall the exact numbers, but it was too high in carbs in my opinion.
Just my two cents, something to consider.
Take care,
Denise

I have to speak out now. First, Colleen. Kashi has too much sugar. You
can find a better protein supplement. Linda, you seem like you are
advertising this Real Meals stuff. I've seen you post before. It might be
a good source of protein, but to say it prevents sagging skin and hair loss
is just plain false advertisement.

Colleen, two of my favorites are Metrx APM 60 and Isopure Zero Carb
(premixed in a glass bottle). The APM 60 comes in a pouch that you mix
with 16 ounces of water. That makes a thick shake. I divide it into 2
servings. Each serving of 8 oz is loaded with vitamins and minerals and
tastes great (I love the doubleshot chocolate)! The 8 oz serving contains
30 grams of whey protein, 2 g fat, 4 g carbs, 1 g of sugar, and only 150
calories. The Isopure is like a juice and comes in several flavors- all
have 0 g fat, 0 g sugar, and 0 g carbs. A 20 oz bottle provides 40 g of
whey protein and between 160-195 calories, depending on the flavor. You
can also buy the Isopure Zero Carb in the powdered form. I get the Isopure
directly from ISOPURE.com and the Metrx APM 60 from vitaminshoppe.com.
Good luck on your journey!
