Question:
WLS, PCOS and Menstruation
I have PCOS, and haven't had a period in years. Could WLS make it return? — StarWish624 (posted on September 13, 2002)

Yes, it could. I have PCO too and I usually only get periods a few times a
year at most on my own. I think I even skipped a year here and there.
Since my WLS almost 5 months ago, I have had pretty regular/normal periods.
They are about 5 weeks apart and last about 5 days. Usually only 2 of
those days are heavy.

Hi Barbara:
I do have PCOS and I am now 4 1/2 months post op. As you, prior to surgery
I hardly had periods and went through infertility treatments to have my
daughter. Since my surgery, I have had periods every 4-5 weeks like clock
work. I now know what these poor women have had to go through most of
their lives, haha. PMS is also very obvious. That is when I crave all the
foods I am not suppose to eat. Hope this helps.

hi there i too have pcos since my surgery i have normal cycles every
month. im glad ive finally been cleared to at least take 1 ibypropyn for
the cramps. but still take it with a nibble of something so i dont upset my
tummy.during the time of my period i also noticed as a previos poster had
mentioned i get the most cravings and a bigger apetite during that time and
im so greatful when its over for the month so i can go back to not dealing
with the cravings atleast for the next 3weeks until rag time again LOL best
of luck to you!
