Calm down. Take measurements and check again in a month.

I have noticed twice in the last 2 weeks that my tummy seems like it is
really sticking out and I'm apprehensive to step on the scale thinking that
I must have gained weight. But when I get on the scale, I find that I've
lost more than 2 pounds in 1 day! Don't ask me why, but it has happened
twice now. I wouldn't worry about it too much. You're only 6 weeks
post-op. Your insides are still healing. :o)

I can understand your concern, as I had my surgery the same day as you. If
you visit my website, you can see my weekly measurements-
www.geocities.com/toolgrl150/WLS.html . You can see there that I've only
lost about 1 1/2 to 2 inches from my waist while I have lost 3-4 inches
from my hips and bust. I am convinced there is still a good deal of
swelling going on in my stomach from the surgery. Also, many people lose
their weight from the top down. Both of these things combined might give
you the impression that your stomach seems bigger, but I assure you you
have lost some. When the swelling goes down, I bet it will seem a lot
better.

hi there my problem area is definetly the lower tummy although mine has
shrunk conciderably from what it used to be its not as small as the rest of
me is getting i think its in part becuase thats where i carried alot of
weight and another is im not working it out as much as the rest of my body
in fear of a hernia maybe your tummy just looks bigger to you cuz the rest
of you is getting smaller best of luck to you :)

Maybe it just looks bigger to you because the area above it is getting
smaller. That is how I lose weight. For a while I look like I have a
watermellon in my pants!
