Question:
has anyone ever had more than threee (3) strictures???? HELP, i need

to talk to you...........my fourth stricture is back in full force. i have an appt. with alan weintruab, (HE IS A SPECIALIST) in tpa on monday 5/20. he is supposed to be very good, and i think choudry, (the old doc, who has done three dialtions) is nice but and also a specialist reccommended by my surgeion, but come on after three tries, i think he has done all he can do. it scared the heck out of me when chris at dr h's office said if they can't cure it with dilation, haicken will have to do surgery. the thing i can't figure about strictures is. sometimes things go down, like crackers, and other things like creme soups won't. I did see where someone recently had 3 strictures. There was someone long ago that had more, but it was due to a stitch being there and it kept trying to heal over. I had found that in the library when I was going through my 2 strictures. You are just a really 'good' healer! Having more than 2 is really uncommon, but does happen. I know they are miserable, hopefully this will end soon for you. You have had a tough time, and I really feel for you, but hopefully you will be moving past this *big bump in the road* real soon and start getting on with a great life!! My prayers are with you Tica.

I'm having my 4th dialation today. Mine are slowing down, I actually made it 4 weeks this time. All of the others were 2 weeks apart. The reason some have so may strictures is that they can't dialate you all at once or it may "overstretch" and make your surgery fail. My GI Dr started my dialation at 10 cm, the next was 11cm. and the next 12 cm. Today they will go 13 cm and hopefully this will be my last. He said one cm can make all the difference. I talked to a girl in the chatroom here that had 13 dialations before she stopped overhealing. My GI Dr said he has done up to 20 on a person. We just have bodies that are great healers!! One benifit to that is my scares are gone and I'm only 3 months post op!! Hang in there, it will eventually stop and it's not because your GI Dr wasn't good. It's normal for some of us!
