Question:
Has anyone tried a work from home program (stuffing envelopes)?
I am considering doing this before and maybe even after surgery but i don't know if it is really legit. i don't know anyone who has done it. does it really work? if you do reccomend it is there a certain company you suggest? — LaKeAffy (posted on April 12, 2002)

I tried this years ago and it was a BAD ripoff. Stuffing the envelopes was
actually getting people like you just had, sending you a self addressed
envelope with the start up fee, and sending them a bunch of flyers and
having them do the same. And so on and so on like a chain. I guess they
get away with it because the flyers actually advertise a business. But it
is nothing like they make it sound. You don't sit down and stuff 500
envelopes, you must advertise and get responses just like the ad you would
repond to. This was years ago, but I have a friend who is homebound and
looking for ways to make some extra money and she says all them at home
jobs are basically a rip off. Good Luck,

Most of those type programs are a rip off. I do Network Marketing from
home and it helps but you have to watch out for those also.

Tammy hit the nail on the head with her explanation of this type of
"scam". I learned a lesson at the cost of $40.00. I always
wondered about this type of endeavor and now I know. Just steer clear
unless you want to run around putting up fliers for people to send you
money so you can send them a paper telling them how to scan the next
person. I just couldn't do it, my mamma taught me better.
