Question:
has anyone been denied insurance coverage because they had WLS in past?

I read on one of the WLS groups I belong to, that a woman who had WLS in 1999 has been denied insurance coverage when her husband changed jobs and Insurance carriers. They say her surgery puts her at high risk for future health problems and therefore will not cover her. I am waiting for my approval for surgery and if there is a good chance I may not be able to obtain insurance in the future because of my decision now, I want to be well aware of that.    — colleen M.
