Question:
I am 8-weeks post op, I still am very tender and still have some swelling.
I am 8-weeks post op. I had lap rny. I stll feel pain in the inside of the insisions, and I am still swollen. I am worried that I am not healing well. I started out at 235 and I am at 206. From reading all the threads I am losing very slowly. Is anyone in the same boat Iam in. Please give me some words of wisdom. Oh, I have 2 rolls in my torso rigen the first on is where they did the surgery and the 2nd one is the old tire. I could see my belly button before surgery now i can't. With the swelling sould I not do sit-ups. The doctor said give it a little more time, but how much time is to long and could there be something wrong. HELP!!! — angelica J. (posted on March 13, 2002)

Hi Angelica, As I am pre op, I can't answer as far as WLS goes, however, I
wanted to say this...When I had my gallbladder removed in the mid 90's, it
was done lap. I had swelling for quite a while. As a matter of fact, my
belly button was so stretched out at odd angles, I thought I would look
like a freak forever. Not so, the swelling all eventually went away, and I
returned to looking normal. As far as the weight loss, from what I hear, as
you started out at a lower weight, you will lose slower. You are still not
doing bad! Just remember, that is permanent weight loss. That is wonderful!
I can't wait to be on the other side. =)

I'm 8 weeks postop. I can't answer the second part but I too am frustrated
at how slowly I am losing. I started at
274 and have only lost 24 pounds. I have been on a plateau
for 5 weeks. I just don't understand how with a low calorie diet I can't
lose. I get my protein and water in.
