The only special thing I needed was a way to puree food for awhile.
Blenders do this, food mills do this, etc, I did find my big food processor
didn't work well with this, because I ate so little that the blades just
pushed my food to the side instead of pureeing it. Blenders are also nice
later if you want to mix pro shakes, puddings, etc. Good luck...

Hi Tica.... I am a gadget queen and always have been. As I prepare for
this I've gotten a good blender that also crushes ice; Pampered Chef has a
food measurer where you push a leaver to adjust the size and this will be
great as I am trying to get into portion control; I've pulled my ice cube
tray out also and plan on putting portions of things I've cooked that I can
puree and pop them into the little squares and freeze/put into a zip lock
bag; I got a sippee cup from Tupperware (I wasn't up to one from Toys R Us
with Teddy Bears on them)so I can sip water all day; and my brain is still
going. Best of luck to you.

My hospital gave me a gadget that is used to pick hings up with, I don't
know what you call it, but it has been very useful. If I dropped something
on the floor I was able to pick it up (because at first you won't be able
to bend over). I used it to retrieve the newspaper off of the front porch
and also to help pull socks and underware up the first few days. Also, it
is hard to stretch up at first, and the gripper comes in handy for getting
things down off of kitchen shelves, etc. In addition to the gripper, get a
one ounce shot glass for measuring. I found one at Bed, Bath and Beyond
that had measurements on it. And, a pair of long, round end tongs for
gripping toliet paper so you can attend to yourself for the first few days.
Good Luck!

I found my couissanart to be so helpful in liquifying soups
and making pureed meats..adding broth for texture.....
For the bathroom I installed a hand held shower and an elevated toilet
seat. Also get a gadget to help you pick
up things...a must,,,I put an extra cushion under my couch
cushion to help me elevate it....to make it easier to get
up.....Hope this helps.
