Question:
Has anyone been dilated and is still throwing up ??

I have been dilated thinking my throwing up would be over . First thing I ate after dilation,I got sick and threw up. It feels like I'm filled to my throat and wont go down.Doc says it's open. I cant go on like this !!    — Connie Z. (posted on November 20, 2001)

Do you throw up even if you drink water? I couldn't keep anything down, even after being dilated. I would throw up every couple of hours, no matter what, even if I hadn't eaten or drank. It ended up that I had a hernia where the intestine was connected to the old stomach and needed another surgery to correct it.

When my stoma was dilated I noticed a marked difference in how food went down. Over time I feel like it might be closing down again. I've heard that it can take several dilations before it takes. Also, I do still throw up some foods, but almost always it's because I either ate too fast or I didn't chew it enough. Could this be happening to you? However, if you are even thowing up liquids that wouldn't be the case. I just wonder, how does your Dr. know that it's still open and that it didn't just collapse soon after the procedure?
