Question:
Did anybody experience regrowth that was different than the hair they had before WLS?
I have wonderful long, thick and naturally curly hair right now. I am ready to accept the normal hair loss I have heard about, but afraid it may grow back without it's curl. Has this ever happened to anyone before? — Tiffany M. (posted on August 14, 2001)

I also have thick curly hair. If mine does fall out (no signs yet) I
"hope" it grows out STRAIGHT. If I could only be so lucky. ;)

Heehee Daniel.. it's funny.. I am SO paranoid about losing my hair (my
profile has a good pic) but mine is stick straight.. I've often longed for
some curl! So may you get your back straight (if indeed you lose any) and
may I get mine back curly (if I lose any), I just dont' want the color of
mine to change for the day God gave me my hair was a good day in his 'paint
lab'.. ~Peace! (PS The curl in the picture of me is after a loong period
of work just getting ready for photos!)

Mine was inconveniently curly. Think: Janis Joplin. Wild & like cotton
candy. Not sure if it was the hystie or WLS, but it is almost straight.
YIPEEEE! I alwyas wanted straight hair! It's a challenge to get used ot
it, but I am SO excited to have it! LOL!

I didn't lose any hair. But, a friend in my support group lost
all of his thin dishwater blond hair. He looked like he was going
through chemo. When his hair came back in, it was thick and blond.
Hair even grew in where he didn't have it before his wls! He jokes
that he got a two-fer...wls and hair augmentation!
