Question:
Please help, stuck in Philly w/ Personal choice!!!

I just got bad news that Dr.ganer inNYC is no longer taking insurance. i had an appointment w/ him even though I live in philly because I am interested in Lap DS and if that was not right for me he did all the alternatives. I had to reschedule w/ Dr. Herron, he take bc/bs but he is not in my network( probably because he is not in my approx. geographical area. the insur. co., BC/BS Personal choice said that they would only pay 80% of what they would pay in network. If I stay in network everything is covered 100% . Problem I don't know who is in my network that has the surgical finesse that this NYC group has. also I have not heard of anyone getting DS done here in the delaware valley. My questions are: if anyone used the Mt Sinai group in NYC who had Personal choice, what did u end up paying out of pocket?Can anyone recommend any dr.s in the the delaware vally area or anywhere where that have been doing laps rny or otherwise on bmi over 50? I just am so disappointed, finally I find dr.s I feel comfortable working on me and I may not be able to afford them. Insurance companies be dammed!!! I know someone who had good success finding a surgeon by contacting their insurance company directly and asking for recommendations in their area. The medical director called them back and suggested someone who he thought was the best choice. I would think it would be in the insurance company's interest to recommend a competent surgeon... less complications to pay for!
