Question:
Anyone have HealthNet?
Hi in Aug, I'll be getting HealthNet HMO and I was wondering if anyone has ever got the surgery approved by them? Or does anyone know what I can expect from healthNet? thanks : ) — phxbbw6ft1 (posted on June 7, 2001)

Coverage can vary from employer to employer, depending on what level of
coverage they purchase. I had Health Net with my company, my husband had
it with his. In both cases they were great. Surgery is covered as long as
your medical group deems it medically necessary. My surgery was approved
within 1 week of their receiving paperwork; my husband's surgery was
approved in 10 days (they lost the first three faxes). No problems at all.
Our surgeries were both the Duodenal Switch. - Kate -

Hello! I have HealthNet too and that is what I have had for a very long
time! I had to wait a few week to hear anything but its worth the wait. And
anyway some people wait MONTHS!!!!! If you go in to see your primary care
doctor, she/he can help you from there. You just might have to wait to hear
anything! It will all come at the right timing. I found out I was approved
on the day of my birthday! It took about three weeks for them to finally
get to me on it. But like I said, its worth the wait. I guess it just
depends on where you live! But I was so excited I thought I would find out
in like just a few days but I was wrong! Be patient. In the meantime,
PRAY!!!! :)

Coverage varies from employer to employer, depending on the particulars of
each policy...I have HealthNet Advantage Platinum and was approved within
hours for wls (lap rny) and within 2-3 weeks for TT with gall bladder
removal...currently waiting on breast reconstruction (cross fingers now!!)
Good Luck and Have a Sparkling Day!! ~CAE~
