Were you a diabetic before surgery or even borderline? Your diet change
alone would cause your sugar to drop since there is less food for the
insulin to work against. If you are dropping very low, be sure to ask your
doctor. You may have developed hypoglycemia and may need to monitor your
sugar intakes more.

I am now 7+ weeks post op. At three weeks post op I was able to go off of
all my diabetes medications. It could possibly be the fact that I wasn't
eating as I did before, but I also think it was the drop in weight. The
doctors all told me that if I dropped the weight- my diabetes would be
under control. I don't need to test my blood sugar anymore!! Good luck!

My blood surgar went from a medicated fasting level of 280 to
a 90. My meds have been reduced and this all took place in 3 months.
I am hoping I will eventually be able to get off meds later.
