Question:
Will ICD stop me from having surgery?

I have an ICD (defibulator and pacemaker) will I still be able to have wls? I am scheduled for a RNY 2/12/01. On 1/21/01, I received an ICD. This came up suddenly. My pre-op tests are 2/1/01. My cardiologists (2) have both said yes. I haven't told the wls surgeon yet.    — Jerry S. (posted on January 26, 2001)

Well, I talked to my surgeon's office today, and I am glad to report that they will still do the surgery.
