Question:
Would like information about ways to help decrease hair loss.
Although my hair is thinning now before surgery, my hair is the best thing I have going for me! Would appreciate suggestions on how to possibly decrease hair loss and know ways to bring it back once lost. Is there a specific shampo that anyone uses? Vitamins? Massage? Other? — cynthiaellis (posted on November 27, 2000)

Protein is the biggie! I was told at least 40 grams/day by my dietician.
She also suggested taking a Biotin supplement (50 grams/day). My
hairstylist suggested either using Nioxin or Biolage "Energizing"
Shampoo along with a Conditioner that contains Tea Tree Oil which also
energizes the scalp to help with thinning hair. I haven't tried the
Nioxin, but the Biolage works well and I use a Conditioner made by Kendra
(another brand from my salon). I hope you find something that works for
you as well.
