Question:
Does anyone know of a reliable doctor in Nor CAL that does the lap RNY?

Since I live on my own, I won't have anyone who can travel down to So CAL with me to assist me with getting from the hospital to the airport. So, I'd like to find a good doctor who can perform the surgery in Nor CAL. I've heard there were some working out of UC Davis, but haven't spoken with anyone who has experience with them.    — Michele V. (posted on October 1, 2000)

Hi Michele, I am trying to get the surgery, also. I am going thru UCD, but I have yet to meet the doctor (Dr Wolfe), but I have heard nothing but good things about him. If you are interested in finding out more, call Matildie @ the surgery center. Her number is (916)734-2858. Good luck.

I know that finding a doctor that is skilled and has a good bed-side manner is difficult, but Dr. Donald Waldrep in Roseville has both. He is patient, explains everything so throughly, and at no point makes you feel uncomfortable. He is very hard working and a very busy guy, but that does not keep him from being very complete in his explanation of the lap RNY proceedure. My first appointment with him lasted 1.5 hours as he explained the entire proceedure to me in detail. He had given a seminar on the surgery, which I had heard about but not attended. HE IS WONDERFUL...and I highly recommend him!!!
