Question:
Does anyone have a photo of the scar from the laparoscopic procedure?
Are there any differneces in the results or the open vs. laparoscopic procedures with regards to effectiveness? — Francelia Rena W. (posted on August 29, 2000)

I had a Lap proximal RNY done October of 1999. I have six small scars
ranging in size from < 1 inch to 1/8 inch. The scars shrink with the
rest of you. The effectiveness is the same. I have made my goal weight and
then some. The difference is that there is a greater chance for leaks
immediately postop from the Lap. Mine was checked for leaks the next day
after surgery, where the open procedure is checked a week later.

I don't have photos either, but I have only 4 tiny scars. Going lap was
the best decision I've ever made. I did not have one complication. 75 lbs
lost in 4 months!
