Hi! Hang in there, some people may be losing more quickly than you because
they weighed more than you to begin with. The weight will come off, your
body has probably just gone into starvation mode thinking "what the
heck is going on here". Keep doing what you are doing and try not to
get discouraged. Best Wishes!!!

I can really relate to your feelings. I am two months post-op also, my
weight has been coming off really slow, that and I have hit two plateaus
already. Are you getting in all of your water? That has been a key with me.
I have been walking two miles every day, drinking my water, and trying to
be really good about eating my protein. Some of us simply lose slower than
others...that is a fact! If you are following all of the guidelines and
still losing slowiy then it is probably the way your body is. I know it is
frustrating, but hang in there...it will come off just keep plugging away.
I had to realize that I would not lose at the same fast rate as others but
that is ok. The slower the weight comes off the better (isn't that what
they say?)
If you ever need to talk.....

Hello Shirley, Are you drinking protein drinks? The hospital where I had
my surgery would not allow us to have protein drinks. We were allowed
water, jello and broth for the first two weeks. Then a soft boiled egg
once a day. Then at week three soft foods like yogurt, cottage cheese,
lots of water and sugar free koolaid and crystal lite. Only eat when your
truly hungry and fight that head hunger. I hope that I have helped some.

It's not what others have lost that you should be thinking of, you can't go
by others losses. 30 pounds in about 8 weeks comes to about 2.75 or so,
pounds a week. You didn't gain all of your weight fast so why be sad that
you are losing it slow? In the long run you won't be as flabby as someone
who loses faster but who will get the FLABS!! You don't say how much water
you get daily. It is really important, every day. Drink as much as you can
a least 1/2 hour before your meals. You also didn't say if you are
premenstral or postmenopausal. That could have something to do with your
weight gain. Exercise is important too. Try to do something every day and
bulid up to a regular schedule for it. Hope this helps.

When my weight flutters a bit, I run through the list again. No milk, no
sugar, no grazing, no drinking with meals. At least 60g of protein
supplement a day (not made with milk), at least 64 oz of water, and 5 to 6
tiny meals per day. If you pass all those tests, it's time to take the new
tool back to the doctor and be checked for any abnormalities. However,
don't beat yourself for slow losing. I was a pokey loser, too. But I got
there. In fact, I overshot my goal, which I thought was WAY COOL. And
then levelled off nicely.
