Question:
Some ideas for post ops
These thoughts ran through my mind this morning and I decided to share them with all post-ops or soon to be post-ops out there. Don't compare your loss to others on this site. You could be in for a big disappointment. You will lose at your own rate. This is especially true if you are having a revision of one surgery to another. Weight loss is based on many factors and you may not have the wonderful fast results that others are having. Then again you may, but don't compare yourself to others. Buy a pair of larger underwear for when you come home. You will be so much more comfortable as it wont bind on your incision (if you have one) Front closing bra's for the ladies is a good idea too. Get your supplies before you go in for surgery. Do your homework so you know what you'll need. It's possible you will regret your decision after surgery. This wont last long. You WILL feel better soon. If you feel poorly tell yourself this wont last long. Take as much time from work as you can afford or are allowed. You can always go back early if you feel up to it. No matter when you go back, you will probably be tired the first few weeks. You may or may not have the energy others claim to have. When you are several months out, try to keep your profile updated. People are interested in your progress even if they don't tell you so. Each of us are an advertisement for weight loss surgery no matter what the outcome. Keep your chin(s) up. You are not alone. God and a lot of people in AMOS care about you. — [Anonymous] (posted on July 24, 2000)

Thanks for the tips. I have one of my own:
Water: I had a really hard time getting my water in because if it became
even lukewarm, I wouldn't drink it. So, I went to the store, and bought
two 32 oz. disposable water cups with the sip tops. I filled them with
spring water and put them in the freezer. Each morning I take one out and
take it to work with me. I sip it as it thaws. By lunch the water is
still cold and by the time it thaws completely, I've drank the entire
bottle. Then, when I get home from work, I refill it, put it in the
freezer and take out my second bottle, which I sip on all night. By
bedtime, the water is gone. It stays cold the entire time because the ice
is thawing. This gives me my 64 oz. of water almost every day. I hope
this helps some of you with the water issue.
