Question:
I just came home from a 4 week check up and I have only lost 13 pounds. I am so disc
I am so discouraged. My start weight is 238# and I am 5'2". I am walking anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 miles a day on my treadmill (approx. 35-45 minutes/day). I am not a grazer so I have my 3 meals (still pureed) of fish, lowfat cottage or ricotta cheese, chicken, some sort of high protein. I usually have 1-2 snacks of applesauce, sugar free popsicle, etc. I am so depressed. Please give me some feedback. Am I whining? — [Anonymous] (posted on May 10, 2000)

Please don't give up or get too discouraged, it will come off.
I too am only 5'2" tall and I have been a slow loser right from
the start. I gained 5 pounds in the hospital and then lost only
about 3lbs. a week at best, then it slowed down. I am now
7 months out from surgery and have lost 75lbs. It is still slow
but I am eating and exercising in a manner that I know I can
live with over the long term and even though things have been
slow the weight is coming off and unlike "diets" I have done
in the past, I may have a week or two when I don't even lose
anything but, I have never gained anything back, not even l pound.
So try to be patient, I know that is hard, but it will come off
and stay off. Good luck.
