Question:
I have my date
Well I posted to my profile but I was holding off putting my date here cuz they told me that if they could squeeze me in on 4/18 or 4/24 they would, but it looks like I am stuck with 5/31. So I will have pre-op 5/30 and surgery 5/31. — allendepot1 (posted on April 11, 2000)

Lynell: Ava's right, the 31st will come fast enough! At first time will
stand still, then all of a sudden you'll realize that surgery is just
around the corner. Use this time to prepare mentally. Try and do some
walking if you can to help with overall conditioning and stamina. Relax
and breathe deeply. Enjoy the things that make your heart sing! You'll be
on the 'other side' before you know it! Good luck. Jaye Carl, RN, open

Congrats to you!!! I know how you feel about the later date! Same
happened to me. And everyone told me the time would fly by. To be honest
with you, it IS!! I can't believe I only have 3 more weeks to go! I made
this big list of things to do and keep me busy and I don't know if I'm
going to get everything done prior to surgery! I'm not going to sweat it
though. I'm concentrating on the important things and worry about the rest
later. Someone mentioned practicing the breathing, I have been doing this.
It was suggested to me and I took if very seriously because a recently
quit smoking. If you don't smoke do it anyway. It's relaxing and will
really help when you have to do the deep breathing post op! Good luck and
let me know if I can help with anything.
