Question:
looking for an insurance co. in Colorado

I am thinking of buying a policy with Pacificare in CO. My former employer used them for our coverage before they switched to United Health. I left that job when I moved and I've been w/o insurance now for 14 mos. If I get a private policy with Pacificare now, would I be considered pre-existing for WLS? I read that other post about pre-existing over a year old would be OK. I weigh more now than when I had the policy with them about 3 years ago. Has anyone had a problem with Pacificare in Colorado? They said there's no grace period after signing up for a policy to wait for surgery, but I didn't even think of pre-existing....    — Sheila G. (posted on February 2, 2000)
