Question:
Okay everyone, what about sex after the operation?
I have not had my sugery yet, but I am wondering. How long after the surgery do I have to wait before having sex? I hope this question didn't offend anyone. I just am curious. — [Anonymous] (posted on December 10, 1999)

I think personally you should see how you feel... it took meself about 3
weeks before I felt comfortable. you can also speak with your Dr. and see
what he/she says about this as well. with anything, you need to test the
waters and see how it feels with you.

Hi, it was recommended by my doctor to wait four weeks to have sex. I
believe it is up to you though, on how you feel after surgery.

I waited about 6 weeks after surgery simply because I had an open incision
(about 9 inches). No problem!

I'm not being flippant, and it's a rhetorical question only; but what kind
of sex were you referring to? I have vague recollections of my wife being
intimate with me in aa "spoken" sort of way when I was still in
the hospital...
otherwise it was just the morphine, again. Can't tell for sure what
happened. When I ask my wife about she just smiles.

Hi. I think it is a valad question. I can only say that for me
it was about one month, but for some it may be sooner. I think
if it hurts, stop. Good luck!
