Question:
Cancer in my family. Does WLS affect ability to take chemotherapy sucessfully?

I don't have cancer but am thinking about long term effects of surgery. If I needed chemo in the future, would I be able to absorb it? Would I be able to tolerate it?    — [Anonymous] (posted on November 6, 1999)

This sounds like a great question for your doctor. My mom has been through Chemo and radiation and in watching how this works, I don't think there would be an obvious problem. The medications they give you do have a tendency to make people nauseous, but again they have drugs for that. I would just ask....Good Luck!
