Hi Diane, I just read your question on the E-mail. I've just found a new
protein powder that tastes so good to me. I haven't been able to stomach
any others up to this point. It is MLO Milk and Egg Protein that I bought
at Albertsons. It was about $14.00 for 16 servings. To smell the powder
itself, it smells like cake mix. I mix it with orange juice, a banana,
etc, some ice and give it a buzz with the hand blender and it is really
yummy. This gives me 21 grams of protein. I usually drink it in the am
and then eat my other 40-50 grams in two meals later in the day.
fyi---orange juice is a natural cover up of things that don't taste well.
I used it when I was first home after my surgery to take the liquid
potassium. It really worked well. I do think this powder would taste
yummy in a milk shake or any juice as well. Hope this helps you. Good
luck. Thinking of you, Linda

My doctor has us drink protein drinks like Designer. That is the one I
drink with no problems. I am a medial and I have to take in 120 grams of
protein each day from my protein drinks. Anything else is a pure bonus.

Hi. I am one year post-op. In the beginning, probably the first 6 months
I drank 2-3 protein drinks a day. Today I just make sure I have protein at
each meal and each snack.
I eat my meat first or what ever has the protein in it. And for snacks I
usually have yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese, milk, etc.

Protein shakes are good-go to a nutrition store and buy some Designer
Protein. Add 1/2 scoop to 8 oz skim milk and 1 sugar-free carnation
instant breakfast (18 grms protein) OR add 1 scoop to 6 oz pineapple juice,
6 oz sugar-free yogurt, 1 banana, icecubes-about 20+grams of protein.
