Question:
Anyone Aprroved with BC/BS of AL without previous diets???
I don't have the required 6 month supervised diet. And was wondering if anyone has been approved with BCBS of AL withoug having this. Any info would be great thanks. — Justin (posted on August 1, 2005)

As you've probably seen in previous postings, a lot depends on the employer
- not just the type of insurance. That being said, I had BC/BS of AL PPO
and had my surgery almost 2 years ago without having to provide a 6 months
diet history. They approved within 2 weeks of the surgeon's letter
expressing need. Good luck!

I just went through that, the previous post is right on time, it depends on
the employer, but i do know that within the last year BC/BS has gotten very
strict. I wrote an amazing letter (at least i think so, you can read it
under my profile) and i was still denied, appealed, and denied again. I
called, my employer called, and still denied... i was also told i needed 12
months of the medically supervised diet, all consecutive... i had the
adepix for 6 months, i see a personal trainer 2-3 times a week, been in
radar, basically done it all... needless to say, im now refinaning my condo
just to have this surgery as i feel it is the only hope i have to save my
life at this point..
Good Luck!
