Please be scoped and otherwise checked, ok? Is it bile or acid? Have they
checked for slippage? Erosion?

There are no initials after my name (like RN or MD), but I am trying to
visualize the new anatomy of a lap-bander (sorry, I am RNY proximal). If
the lapband is merely restrictive (within reason), then there is no reason
why stomach acid could go back up into the esophagus, right? I know the
opening is smaller, but there is nothing changed in the anatomy (like being
transected) which would prevent it.<br>
Have you spoken with your doc?

Hi,
I had the same thing happen to me. Too tight! They let out .25 and it
resolved everything. what a change it made. Talk to your doctor. Or go see
them

Hi Lisa,
I have a lapband and was experiencing reflux. I was too tight. I had some
taken out and I am better now. I also stop eating at least 3 to 4 hours
before I sleep and I stop drinking at least 1 hour before sleeping.
I have to say though, that you must call your doctor. Reflux is not
something that you should play around with. The very worst case scenario
is that you reflux in the night, aspirate it into your lungs, get
pneumonia, and this can be fatal. OR prolonged reflux can lead to
esophageal cancer. You should have a barium swallow to check the placement
of your band. Please get it checked out.
