Question:
I can not find a Surgeon who takes DSHS of WA. Please Help?

My PCP agrees I need WLS. Now I have to find a Surgeon and I have been thew the list here and I can not find one. Please Help!! All the people in the Insurer list had there surgeries a year or so ago. I need to know if anyone has one right now who takes DSHS. And if you could tell me what to do now???    — Amanda A. Have you tried contacting the University of Washington Hospital? I know that they take medicade and just about every other insurance. I had my surgery there and had the best of care and my surgeon is fantastic. I think the phone # is 206-598-4477

I know a woman who had hers covered by DSHS just over one year ago and had her surgery at Skagit Valley Hospital by Dr. Mark Johnson. It was a fairly new program at the time. The other WA doctor who used to take DSHS was Dr Simonowitz (SP?) but I thought I heard he is no longer accepting DSHS... not sure about him but you can always check. I believe he is in Bellevue area. Good Luck.
