Make sure you know how many appeals you get. With BC/BS of IL I only get
one. Then it has to be a legal battle. What was the denial based on?

Linda,
Definitely check out the various attorneys who specialize in fighting
insurance denial for WLS - www.obesitylaw.com and www.obesitylawyer.com are
both well-respected.
However, don't forget that self-paying is definitely an option! I ended up
self-paying for my surgery, and went to Spain to Dr. Aniceto Baltasar for
my BPD/DS. Getting denied by insurance was probably one of the best things
to ever happen to me in this lifetime! I am SO thrilled with my results,
and the ongoing friendship I have with my wonderful surgeon.
Best of luck to you - and please let me know if I can answer any questions,
okay?
Blessings,
dina
