Question:
Know a doctor in Illinois that does Revision and takes BCBS?

I need to find a doctor who can do a revision, takes BCBS..also, if anyone knows how hard in is to get BCBS to approve for Revision?    — audranelson (posted on March 30, 2005)

Audra - There is this awesome surgeon at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital in Chicago. He is a first rate bariatric surgeon! He also does all other forms of gastroenterological surgeries. His name is Dr. James Madura of the Affiliated Clinical Surgeons group at 1725 West Harrison Street, Suite 818, Chicago IL 60612 - His office phone is 312-942-6511. Audra, I forgot to address your insurance point....Dr. Madura of Rush does accept HMO Illinois Blue Cross/Blue Shield!

You may want to try the University of Illinois. Also there are a couple of surgeons there who are experienced at doing revisions from RNY to DS. You may want to investigate the option of a DS revision since your other wls failed you. Please join us here at the OH DS forum or go to duodenalswitch.com to learn more about a revision to a DS.
