I can atest to that. I had my gallbladder removed in 1988 and suffered with
cronic diarreha till 1996. I was sirously ill in 96 and after that (spent
month in the hospital) I was cured of the cronic diarreha - don't know why
but extremely happy it stopped.

Your galbladder is a part of your bodies digestion system. Removing it
won't kill you, but it does mildly affect your digestion. Most common
complaints that I have heard are diarrea and problems eating lettuce. It
usually subsides after your body has adjusted to the new way of doing
things. Just like RNY. Personally, I had the diarrah issue for almost a
year. But that could have been because of other things as well. Never had
issues with lettuce though.

I had my gallbladder out March 2002. I had diarrea so bad the first 6
months afterward that I missed work 3 out of 5 days a week. Then my sister
suggested I try calcium supplements. It did the job! When I had my
hysterectomy 9/2003, my bowels went the other way. Now, I'm at a happy
medium and not needing calcium or laxatives...YEAH! I had no problems with
lettice but watching someone eat anything with unmelted butter on it was
enough to make me queezy. I've heard that pizza is often a tummy turner
post gallbladder removal.
