Hi Debra! Well, first I would have to ask you -- how tall are you, how old
are you, what is your bone structure? All of these things play a part in
what your normal weight should be. 167 lbs for a middle aged woman around
5'6 would be normal. As it would for a younger woman who is a little
taller or has a large bone structure. Personally, when I have weighed that
in the past, it was just about perfect for me. I have large bones. When I
last weighed 170 lbs I wore a size 9/10. It depends on the individual.
I would check with your PCP. Good LUck!

You really need to take a long hard look at how you are working your
program. Are you getting all of your water, protein, getting your exercise
in that you are supposed to? Not only the protein, but how many calories
are you eating; are you eating some empty calories? Keep a food diary to
really analyze how you are doing, this has been very helpful in the past
for me to do. I also keep an exercise diary of how long and how far I walk
or bike each day. And I also do weight strengthening several times a week.
I have been on a long plateau and have not budged but about 5# in the last
4 months, nor have I lost anymore inches. I am only 2 months behind you for
the same exact surgery and started out at 241#. I am down 91#. But, I look
at this way - it as how I feel and from what everyone else tells me that I
look great also. I suck in those accolades instead of dwelling on the fact
that I am not at my personal goal yet of 130. I really am now coming to the
conclusion that I will need PS to take off the extra skin in order to loose
a significant amount of weight to get closer to my goal. Good luck.

Believe it or not you will drop some more weight. A starting weight of 250
isn't that bad. When I started I was probably about 230 and i'm now down
to about 120 but it took a few years to get to here. I am 3 years post-op.

when i recently went to the doctor he asked what i was doing to workout. i
told him i was going on 5 mile bike rides with my kids and long 3 mile
walks about 3 times a week....then he asked me AGAIN what was i doing to
workout. he said that i can't count that as "working out" if im
not in a full sweat! i thought about it an agreed with him. when i was big
it would have been a real workout, but now that i am healthier it really is
just for fun and no sweating involved. i then started to really work it and
build up a good sweat and the weight started falling off. btw i'm one year
postop. best of luck to you.
