Question:
When will this rash go away?
I now have a rash under my belly treating it with an over the counter med which my MD recommended, I thought she might call something in. How long does it usually last? And how often do they usually come back on any of you. Should I call my md each time so it will be in my medical records for later use if I need help with approval for tummy tuck? I have had them before but just treated it myself since Im a nurse I knew what to use, but now its not on my medical record. So hopefully starting now will help if needed. — Carrie W. Carrie, What did your doctor tell you to use? I have found that PALADINE
OR PALOMAR E creams work wonderful. The first one is a diaper rash cream.
The other one is what the nursing homes use for urine burns. Within a day
or two the rash is gone. I have used this for 5 years or more.
Good luck.

CARRIE I AM ONLY 8 WEEKS POST OP, BUT MY PCP AND SURGEON TOLD ME TO CALL
THEM IF I GET A RASH AND TO TAKE PICTURES IN CASE A TUMMY TUCK IS NEEDED
LATER. THEN YOU WOULD HAVE AN EASIER TIME LATER WITH THE INSURANCE.

Sounds like you might have a yeast infection in the skin fold. I get them
all the time. My pcp has me on a high dose of diflucam four days in a row
when I get a flare up. Thank God she prescribes me 20 pills at a time.
Having this documented I hope will help with insurance approval for the
abdominalplasty. I am in my second week of waiting for approval.

I used a bacitracin type thing, although my dermatologist did prtescribe 2
things. I never filled them. I am hyper vigilant about using powder and
keepin the area dry. As the others mentioned, take pictures, definitely.
One thing though, if you can date the pictures, do it. I just won an
external review for my abdominoplasty to overturn my denial from Oxford,
and one comment that the reviewer made, was that my pictures were not
dated. I don't know how critical it might be for you, but it can't hurt.
Good luck!

Ok I have gone to the dr a couple times with this. She said that it is
like a yeast infection. The first time she gave me the diflucan. I was
alergic. The second time she called in a different perscription. It ended
up being a cream for athletes foot. It did work. But the best thing that
worked for me was corn starch. I also put a little deodorent under there
every day so that I won't sweat. Seems stupid to read but it works

See I should read the whole question before I open my mouth. The answer to
the part about calling the dr every time is yes. Everyone says to have it
documented every single time. That way it will be easier to have a tummy
tuck approved.
