It could be stress-related. I had that problem at times because I was so heavy. Once I lost a small bit of weight, I became regular again.

I am having the same exat thing! My surgery is about 7 weeks off and I have been so stressed and my period has been acting up horribly! (excessive, longer, erratic, etc)It must be stress, I wouldn't say anything just have your surgery and I'm sure everything will return to normal. I'm so excited for you- you're surgery is tomorrow! Be happy and I'll look for your posts after you get home.... Best Wishes!

Boy do I have the period from HELL!!! I have been on since FEB 2!! DH had surgery Feb 11, and I attributed to stress...but here I am over a moth later and still going. I called my OBGYN and all she had to say was well, keep tracking your flow. Thanks for nothing!!! I have been begging for a hystrectomy (sp??) but leave the overies for years now but she won't do it.

I had my period when I had surgery too...if you tell them they will give you a fancy pair of "designer" undies...ya know the stretchy disposable kind! I wore a pad and those undies and did fine. The hard part was after the surgery and trying to clean myself, because as we know periods can be a messy thing...especially when ya cant reach yourself! I wasnt offered much help during my hospital stay, but if you need it be sure to ask...it is their jobs to help! And yes, stress plays a huge part on our female bodies. I too, have been bleeding for two weeks when I shouldnt be (patch user here) Im going through a tough time at home with b/f, so I think its the cause! The stuff us women have to put up with, huh!?!? Take it easy, and dont worry ....itll be fine! God Bless for a smooth surgery and recovery!

Yes, happened to me too. I'd had irregular, very infrequent (Like 2-3 a year!) periods for years leading up to surgery, but they decided to creep up and slam me the closer to my surgery I got. As I went in for my last pre-op visit a couple of days before my surgery, I had to bring it up because I was afraid I wouldn't stop before surgery. Thank God I did! Doc did say it wasn't a problem and they could work around it though. In addition, said it's very common for it to start just after surgery too. Stress can sure wreak havoc on our insides! :)
