I thought it was just me! I am too almost 9 months post op and haven't lost
weight in over a month! I am a little frustrated. I still can't eat a lot
and I exercise. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong?

OMG me too! I am down a little over 100 pounds, and the scale hadnt moved
since Dec 19th, I do deep water aquatread and aquacise 2 hours a day 3
times a week. It started creeping down again the other day, and I havent
had my monthly since then either. And I did undergo a lumpectomy on Dec
19th so I think my body is just resting. But I have still been dropping
inches durring this time. How about you? :0)

Hey I am on the same band wagon. I am 8.5 months out AND I SWEAR my scale
was possesed by the enemy. It did not move over a month. I have have
increased my water intake ,watched my carbs and exercised like there was no
tomorrow. the scale finally moved. I am down 3 ..YES 3 pounds. But it seems
that I have lost few inches here and there while the weight was at a stand
still. So remember ladies drink lots of water, exercise daily, and watch
what you are consuming. good luck!!!!!!!!! 270/192.

Sheila,
Thank you for asking this.. I thought I was the only one that didn't lose
that 100 by 6 months I also read on the message board how everyone is
losing so fast.. I felt frustrated and alone.. I have 30 left until goal
and I have only been losing around 2 pounds to 4 pds the last 2 months.. I
exercise 5 days a week and eat my protein first I don't snack. I get at
least 110 ounces of water in a day and nothing..Don't get me wrong I am so
much healthier since wls and wouldn't change it for the world but I would
like that honeymoon phase back.. We can do this it will just take
time..Again thanks for making me feel like i am not alone=)

I am so glad to hear that it is not just me. I had my surgery on 5/8/03 and
I am dowm 99 from 288. The scale has danced from 190 to 188 for the past
six weeks. I cut out snacking increased water and protein so I am currently
floating and still nothing. Hopefully someone will have an answer.

Well I am very frustrated I am 7 weeks out and have only lost 30 pounds is
that normal. I read where people have lost so much more, what am I doing
wrong that my scale has not moved at all, I eat the protein, I drink water
and nothing.

OK, this may sound a bit strange, but take it from someone who is almost 4
years out and I am maintaining within 10 pounds of my lowest weight. You
need to add more calories. Yup, it sounds strange, but your body is
"used" to what you are giving it for fuel and is using that fuel
very efficiently. If you were to cut the calories, your body would think
you were starving it and might even gain a few pounds (really water
retention) as a defense. Why not add an extra protein snack or one small
meal a day for a week and see what happens? This doesn't mean its open
season to snack or add "junk food", just add a little more of the
good stuff you are already giving. You just might be surprised!

Queen of Stuck beyond stuck here! Had RNY 10/29/02, stopped losing (and I
mean stopped) in May 2003! I have fluctuated maybe 4 lbs up or down since
then. (Weigh and graph it daily!) Need to lose another 40 lbs (realistic
goal, 60 lbs ideally).I have tried everything known to man to nudge the
scale (and, no, I'm not losing inches.) Done the following: 1) had basal
metabolic rate tested. Should be able to eat 1548 calories per day to
maintain current weight, easily lose on 1200 per day. Had a dietician
review my food journals - not going over about 1100 calories on a bad
day!2) Increased the protein. I usually get 60-90 grams of protein from
shakes, plus other food sources to bring it to about 120 grams per day, at
least. 3) Increased water and other fluids (only one cup of coffee a day)
to 3 liters. Growing gills and know location of restrooms everywhere. 4)
Walk 6 - 7 times per week outside. Do weight training every other day
(missed a few times due to holidays and illness) but try to be consistant.
I know I have more muscle now, but I would still like to get rid of the
fat! Added bicycling and alternate with elipical at the fitness center
where I do weight training. 5) Stopped doing everything for about 2 weeks
while I had and upper respiratory infection. When I started exercising
again, nothing happened. (Except I had to decrease some of my weights a
little.) Just trying to hang in there and see if I start losing again, or
learn to live with where I am. I AM healthy and that's what it's really all
about!

Sheila, more info is really needed here. Your profile stopped at 5 months
post-op and 80 pounds lost, now you are at 9 months and 96 pounds. I think
that is a fantastic weight loss and wonder why you aren't satisfied with
that? It sounds like you are doing the right things, eating well, working
out, drinking water, etc. Are you not losing at all or just too slowly for
you? I don't know how close you are to goal either. Our weights do slow
down, significantly when we get closer to goal. Give us a little more info
so we can help you ...how often do you eat? How much weight lost in the
last month or two, how many more pounds to goal, your height, what you
eat...same exercise every day or does it vary?
