Everyone's taste is different. I've finally found a drink I like and have stuck with it. I take 2 scoops of Zero Carb Vanilla Isopure (50 grams of protein), blend it with 1 cup of Lactaid milk with soy protein (14 grams protein) and add a tablespoon of Nestle's Fat Free Hot Chocolate Mix for taste. It has tons of protein in it and tastes good to me. For variety I switch out the hot chocolate mix for several different sugar free flavorings (strawberry, raspberry, etc.) depending on my mood. I pour the whole thing over ice so it will be nice and cold. Blending it in the blender with the ice makes it too frothy. You could also just shake it in a shaker and it will stil be smooth. As for Protein bars, I've tried the Detour bars and U-Turn. Both taste good. The texture is not my favorite, but there is much worse on the market. The large ones have 30 grams of protein each. I also REALLY like the Zone bars. The texture is similar to a rice crispie bar (a little more gritty) and gives me something to chew, plus the taste is great. They have 14 to 16 grams of protein each bar.

For the money, Econo whey from Sci-Fit works for me and my DH. 1 1/2 scoops in water, mixes easily and is about 30 grams of protein. We usually get Raspberry Delight or Strawberry. The flavors are not real strong, no aspartame, not overly sweet. I can drink this down like water. It isn't gritty or thick.

As it has already been said, everyone's tastes are different, but I truly like the ProScore 100 Chocolate that I get from vitalady.com. They have sample packs available if you're interested in trying different flavors. Good luck!

I was told that I couldn't absorb more than 30g at a time, so I found the solution for me. I take 8oz of carb smart fat free milk (12g), sugar free Carnation IB (4g) and then a scoop of unflavored Veg protein (24g). I can get that at the supermarket. Add some ice cubes and it tastes like a milk shake! Sometimes I will add a little splenda strawberry syrup. (it has a little more than 30g, but I figure the extra can't hurt, right?!?) Good luck!

I like the slim fast, low carb shakes. I don't have to mess with blenders or shakers, they give me 20g of protein, and aren't too yucky. As far as protein bars go, I love the Adkins Advantage Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar, it has 19g of protein and no sugar alcohols which make me dump..

Elaine, I have found a great protein drink. Like you I have a hard time swallowing the nasty tasting protein drinks, but I have found one that even my kids like. It's by Champion Nutrition, it's called Pure Whey Protein Stack, the chocolate flavor. I love it, I did try the strawberry flavor and didn't care for it, but the chocolate tastes like chocolate milk. I get it from the patient advocate at my doctors office, she has a web site were she sells it from. The website address is www.wlssuccess.com, there are some Nectar protein drinks on her website that I've been told are very good too, they're supposed to taste just like fruit juice.
