No, you don't have to worry yourself to death about this. Keep taking the
Lovenox and Coumadin and get your labs done when the doctor tells you to. I
have a friend who, several years ago, slipped on some ice and broke his
leg. He is obese, and was about 55 years old back then. His entire leg was
in a cast. He works at home, so not a lot of activity on his part, anyway.
Needless to say - he developed a blood clot - only his went from his ankle
up to his mid-thigh, in the casted leg. He was on the same medications and
was just fine. He just turned 62 and has not had any problems since. You
will be fine!

You do not have to be afraid to take Lovenox or Coumadin, just as long as
you make sure that you are careful. Make sure that you wear a bracelet that
says you are taking the meds in case that you are ever injured and are
unconscious and cannot tell the medical help that attends to you. I took
Coumadin for years without a problem. You may bleed heavier during your
period and you will bruise easier. A slight bump may result in a bruise.

I had a blood clot, deep vein thrombis to be exact, after a knee surgery I
had. I was in the hospital for 7 days on a heparin drip and took coumadin
for 6 months afterwards and did a blood test every week, therefore, I did
not wear any type of medical alert bracelet. That clot was in 1988. Kim

Bobby, As long as you go for your blood test when they are scheduled and
take the medication as the Doctor orders, you will be fine. relax, be
careful not to injure yourself, and know that if you cut yourself you will
bleed a little more then you normally would. God Bless,

Hi Bobbi. I would be afraid NOT to take the Lovenox and Coumadin since a
DVT is a serious thing. I had DVT and pulmonary embolus last year and the
physicians are very careful about your medication dosing. Believe me, you
will be sick of having your blood tested but the Coumadin dosing needs to
be very precise and depends on your blood test results. Don't worry.
