Question:
What is the average weight loss for 3 months? I started at 292 and have lost 54
so far. Is this a good weight loss. I am concerned as to wether or not I will make it to goal. — michelle C. (posted on December 16, 2003)

Sounds like you are doing great. Different people lose at different speeds
but I am 5'8 started at 305 at 6 months I was real close to 100 lbs ( I
would have to check my profile to give you exact amounts, which you are
welcome to do if you want) I am now 16 months out and at goal which for my
Doc was 180. I run between 178 and 182 which make me happy. I wanted to be
a size 12 not really a certain weight. I wear 12's in most, some 14's and I
may lose a few more lbs in the next few months. Good luck and keep up the
good work!!

You started about where I started. You are doing very well. I used the
weight planner on this website using an 80% expected loss. I have stayed
within a few pounds (some times more somtimes less) than that chart. Best
wishes -

Average loss is 20-30 pounds for month 1 and then 7-14 pounds per month
after that.
So with those numbers, average weight loss for 3 mos is 37-58 pounds.
Sounds like you are doing high average.
