Question:
Does anyone know of a good, sugar-free hot chocolate mix?
I'm sorry, but I am heartily tired of Crystal Light! It's winter now, and I would like to have some hot chocolate (chocolate is how I know that God loves me and wants me to be happy!). For a confirmed chocoholic, I have been so good about not eating chocolate, and it has been hard. Now I would like to have hot chocolate when my family does, but ONLY if I can find a really low-calorie, sugar-free brand. Anyone know of such a thing? Swiss Miss makes two pretty good ones. One is no sugar added and has more
calories and carbs than the other but I prefer that one and just drink it
when I am having a craving for sweets. I believe that they are bith made
with Splenda now too.

If you like coffee along with your chocolate you can also try: General
Foods International Coffee's Swiss Mocha. Make sure you get the Sugar Free
& Decaf version. This is delicious for an occassional treat on a cold
winter night. I add a splash of milk or cream to mine to lighten it up. And
sometimes I mix in some protein powder. YUMMY! I've also used the Swiss
Miss Diet and Swiss Miss No Sugar Added Hot Chocolates which are both very
good. Hope you find something that you like.

I did discover that the sugar-free cocoa mixes mix up a bit harder (as do
the sugar-free coffees) - they tend to clump. I bought a small coffee cup
sized mixing wand and use that to blend it in the hot water. Makes it MUCH
more appetizing. Also have you ever tried HOT crystal light lemonaid?
Wonderful!

For about 3 months post-op, I lived on Swiss Miss hot cocoa, made with
Splenda. It was heavenly!

I love the Swiss Miss no sugar added. It is sweetened with Splenda. I
also make my own - 1 Tablespoon of Hershey's Cocoa, 1 Tablespoon of
Splenda; mix together and add enough hot water to make a paste; heat 1 cup
of skim milk and slowly stir in the chocolate paste. Don't let the milk
boil. You can adjust the amount of chocolate and sweetener to your tastes
that way.

I like Nutri-System hot chocolate. It has 14 grams of protein and I do
really well on it. You can order on their web site but, it is more costly.
I think if you are going to drink or eat anything we should have the
protein. You can email me if you want. Hugs!

Hi, Here's a recipe for Instant Cocoa Mix that you make a batch of....you
just add to hot water.
2 cups nonfat dry milk powder
1/2 cup lower-fat powdered non-dairy creamer
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon Equal (or other) for Recipes
or 10 packets of Equal sweetner (or other)
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
For cocoa mix, stir together milk powder, nondairy creamer, cocoa powder,
Equal and, if desired, cinnamon. Cover and store in an airtight container.
For each serving, in a heat-proof mug, add 3/4 cup boiling water to 1/4 cup
cocoa mix. Stir to dissolve.
Each cup contains 8 gm of protein.

Do you have a Super Walmart near by??? They have a 'great value' brand of
"reduced calorie" hot cocoa that actually has less grams of sugar
than the Swiss Miss. I love it. I make it with milk, (if you can
tolerate) to help with my protien intake and creamier results.
