i have never heard of this. i am interested in more details on what this is
and how it is supposed to work. i do remember they used to sell rubber
pants that were supposed to help you lose pounds but it only made you loose
water and once you drank all the "weight" you lost came right
back.

If this is one of those muscle stimulator type things, then all it is doing
is sending a very small stream of electricity to cause the muscle to
tighten, which would not burn calories at all, it would seem, as the
electricity is causing the muscle contraction, not an effort by you! You
only use calories when you are expending energy. Lying down having some
electricity shot into a muscle wouldn't be the same thing it would seem.
This will tighten muscles up, but it is not exercising at all. I wouldn't
consider this is to be a form of exercise and especially no think that any
measureable amount of calorie expenditure is being done. You would do
better to get out and move your body in some fashion to use calories. just
my two cents. karen (open rny, 9/6/01, 297/145)
