Question:
I've started doing my walk away the pounds tape the 2 mile one

was just wondering if anyone else used this tape and how many miles were you able to do. I'm doing 1 1/2 miles plus get in walking while in the stores everyday.    — Tanya W. (posted on November 28, 2003)

Hi, I use the tapes and I think I have everyone of them now. My favorite ones are the more advanced ones. I like the Heart Healthy one too. I like to sweat and they really make me when I do them. I do them in front of a mirror and it is fun that way. I love Leslie Sansone because she is not annoying like ummmmm...Denise Austin or someone else like her. I cannot keep up with the Richard Simmons tapes because he doesn't really give you time to learn the steps. Leslie is cool and gives you only four basic steps. I like the stretchie band. Good luck! The tapes have really increased my endurance and I am also going to Curves where I use the steps in the walking part between machines.

Congratulations! I Love Leslie Sansone! It was recommended to me thru our program. I also bought the 1,2 and 3 mile DVD's. I had surgery on July 7th (312) and Thanksgiving Day reached 100 lbs lost. So you see EXERCISE MAKES A DIFFERENCE! I, like you started out with the 1 and 2 mile walks. I maintained 2 miles for about 2 months and decided to be brave and shoot for 3 miles. DONE! I purchased the Power Walk and Tone DVD where Leslie uses up to 2lb weights for each arm and walks 3 miles. I have been doing this one for about a month and I still sweat each time I do it. Alot better for my arms with the weights. I find that I have things slappin and flappin during my exercises but THAT'S OK! I plan on purchasing the 4 mile DVD very soon and taking the plunge. Again, I have to agree, Leslie is simple...4 easy steps...and she's motivational.(My joints feel more fluid..Ha ha as Leslie says). I tried Billy Blanks one night and wrenched my neck...LOL...Barely did 5 minutes...and have tried Jenny Craig Aerobics and was tripping over my own feet..Lady was too fast changing the moves<SIGH> I have tried others too but Leslie has been THE ONLY ONE that I can do and do daily...I may skip a few days here and there due to scheduling conflicts, and busy schedules. I do feel guilty when I can't exercise. I OWE Myself this time each and every day. Am I worth 45 minutes a day? HECK YEAH! Keep up the walking and before no time you'll be at 5 miles. Thank you Obesity Help for all the support and encouragement! Peace!

Sounds like this Leslie Samsone would be right up my ally. Can you tell me where you purchased the DVD's? Were they available at WalMart? Thanks.

I have to agree with the other posters....I love these tapes. I had open RNY on 2/11/03 and started using the tapes at about 3 weeks out. I use the 2 mile tape (with weights) twice a day..7 days a week. I have had no plateaus and reached my doctor's goal at 7 months and I am now in a size 4/6. I have no doubt that exercise has made the difference. So grab a tape and get healthy!!!

I love these videos too! I really like how she starts you off with the 1 mile tape, then you can move up to the 2 or 3 mile tape. At 300 lbs, most exercise tapes were too hard to finish, but I could do the one mile and within a week move up to the 2 mile (I was doing these pre-op) <br><br> They are pretty easy to find, and I have seen them in wal-mart (as a previous poster asked) you can also find them at the official site www.walkawaythepounds.com/ I know I am planning on ordering some of the other sets I don't have for my post op exercise plan!

I have the 1 mile, 2 mile and 3 mile DVD set. I bought mine at Walmart for about $25. They are well worth it.

I love these too! I started 1 month prior to my banding doing the 2 mile everyday, by my surgery date I had lost 15 lbs!
