Question:
I WANT TO KNOW IF ANYONE WHO IS POST-OP ON THE
Weight Watchers plan. im 8 months post-op -80lbs and im happy with that. My job offered the weight watchers plan and i joined. Is it good if i still want to lose 20-30lbs more? I actually joined for the maintenence of eating regular food. They do not limit what u eat just how much u eat. If anyone who is on it,can u please tell me how your doing. I haven't been on weight watchers since my mom was going, and i was a kid. It is really structured as far the point system. thank your all in advance for your answers. 260/180/160 — sexysag37 (posted on November 8, 2003)

I personally think whatever helps us attain our goals and maintain is
acceptable and if for you that's using WW's, then go for it. The only
thing to realize is that you may need more protein than most of the people
in the program, so keep an eye on that. I'm sure you will make that 160
lbs!

Weight Watchers is a great program and a good way to keep on track. If it
works for you, go for it. I was in WW before my surgery. Over 8 months I
lost 14 pounds. Of course, since surgery (3 months) I've lost over 50
pounds. I haven't gone back to WW yet because I'm losing so fast and can't
really eat on the program anyway. I was counting my points just for yucks
when I began eating again post op. While I can eat 37 points a day on the
WW program, I was actually eating anywhere from 15 to 18 points a day. I
think they'd frown at that, so I'll wait until my weight stabizes before
going back to WW... but I WILL GO BACK. Good luck.

I heard somewhere that WW is developing a support plan for postoppies. I
hope so, as we have a weekly public (not employer-sponsored) meeting on
Tuesday mornings where I work and it would be so convenient to pop in there
and weigh in...

I'm thinking of going back when my weight loss tapers off a bit and I can
eat more like a "normal" person. My husband goes and it's really
helping him. I emailed them and asked about the special program for WLS
people and I got kind of a cryptic answer: "Thank you for visiting
our website and contacting us with your inquiry.
Everyone is individual in their methods of complying with the program. By
nature, FlexPoints is designed to be flexible so that anyone can adapt it
to their own individual needs. How each person chooses to adapt FlexPoints
will reflect the rate of weight loss. Weight Watchers is not a one on one
weight loss program.
We wish you the very best in your continued weight control efforts, and
encourage you to visit our website - www.weightwatchers.com to see the many
new and exciting changes taking place regularly."
