I had open so I can't relate to what you are feeling but I do know that I
didn't have that problem with my 8 inch long incision. My suggestion is to
call your surgeon's office just to make sure there isn't something going on
that needs attention.

I am five weeks post-op lap and only had tenderness in my abdomen for about
a week following surgery. I realize that everyone's sensitivity is
different but I would most definitely call the doctor and inform them. It
could be critical information.

Nancy, I would contact your surgeon. I had lap, and I had abdominal pain
only for the first few days, like I had done too many stomach crunches. Is
it your incisions that hurt or is it muscle pain, or something else?
Regardless, if it hurts that bad, I would call the doctor.

I agree, I think you should see/call your surgeon ASAP. I have never heard
of pain being that bad at 4 weeks post op. I had OPEN RNY and by 2 weeks
most the pain was gone. I hope all is ok. Good luck!

Maybe it's infected beneath the skin? I can't think of any other reason it
should hurt that long. I went home from the hospital sleeping on my
stomach. I would call your doc, relief may be as close as a week's worth of
antibiotics and you should never be miserable.

I am 3 1/2 weeks post op, LAP RNY, and I have not had any real pain to
speak of for about 2 weeks. I suggest you definately call your
doctor...TODAY!

I had Lap and about 4wks out i had a burning pain (would bring tears to my
eyes) for about two weeks. the Dr. said it was something to do with
surgery so close to my ribs. and then one day it was just gone...weird
