Question:
anyone use Dr Osvaldo Anez and smoked. what are his guidelines for smoking.

He's not my doctor.. but I'm going to hope that any doctor's guidelines for
smoking are DON'T .... sorry.. if you're going to have this surgery and get
healthy, might as well go all the way... when changing habits... you could
change a few more. Good luck.

I have Dr. Anez and honestly his staff didnt ask. but you will want to
atleast quit the month of your pre-op tests if not permanently. He
requires various tests such as an endoscopy and pulminary function all of
which show the affects of smoking. also you dont to be hacking up a lung
in the hospital, the incision is painful. good luck! he is the most
wonderful surgeon out there! -Kym 3 weeks post -27lbs!!

Tanya, I had Dr. Anez and my hospital buddy had him too. I'm not a smoker
but she was. She had a hard time using the spirometer after the surgery
and had to take breathing treatments. I'd say you should quit now just
because the healthier you are going in will help with your recovery.
