Question:
Any one try Smoke Away??
Ive just returned from the Plastic Surgeon (yea, insurance is going to pay for my tummy tuck and hernia repairs, I paid cash for my RNY) Ive definately got to quit this time. I tried for my Rny and couldnt do it. (probably cause I didnt have to, Doc just said I couldnt smoke in the hospital)Im terrified of the possible weight gain (still 25 from goal) and failure. I was wondering if Smoke Away might help. Im desperate. I have to be smoke free for 3 months prior to tummy tuck. Any support or advice would be appreciated. Thanks guys, Marilayne — Marilayne M. Marilayne, a coworkers daughter used the smoke away and she quit in 4 days
and has not gone back. I, myself, found the patches worked for me. Hope
this helps.

I thought smoke away was a joke, a waste of money. The patch is so much
more effective

I have to agree with the last poster that Wellbutrin 150 mg twice a day
helped me quit after my second son was born, however it was given for
post-pardom depression so insurance covered it. Most PCP will give the
Zyban precription to stop smoking, but for some reason insurance won't
cover under that name. So if your want to give it ask your dr to write the
precription under Wellbutrin...also it took 2-3 wks to kick in. On a side
note, I went off it because it made me feel moody/cranky but that could be
having two kids under 2 at the time. LOL! Unfortunately I began to start
smoking again, 2-3 a day and now I have to get back on the meds again
before I have WLS early next year. Good luck, I know its tough.

Hi Marilayne, I have a friend that did the Smoke Away and that was in Feb.
of this year and he has not wanted to smoke at all, he smoked for 20 years
he said that for it to really work you really have to want to quit he also
said when you order your kit to get the whole kit, it will have all you
need for your support, and he said the first day was real hard the second
day was better and the third day he had no desire to smoke! so good luck

I smoked for 12 years and I really loved to smoke. A friend used smoke away
and really worked on me until I broke down and bought it too. Well it took
me about another year to try, I still had the kit so I tried and haven't
looked back in three years. Good luck it really works if you want it to!!!
