Question:
What if surgeon does'nt say anything about not smoking before surgery

No problems however, please inform your doctor that you do smoke and remember to exercise your lungs well...deep breathing and coughing practice. It also depends on how your over-all health is. Good luck!

I smoked and I didnt tell him because he told me to quit before surgery. I damn near got pnemonia in the hospital and had to take robitussin and have breathing treatments every 2 hrs and they made me cough. talk about pain after major surgery. I wanted the surgery sooo bad I wasnt going to risk not getting it. If you have months to wait for surgery then try to quit smoking.
